The ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, often referred to as the Russo-Ukrainian War or Ukraine Russian War, began in 2014, but the most significant escalation occurred in February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Since the beginning of the year, Russian forces have retaken and captured roughly 2,350 square kilometers (907 square miles) of territory in eastern Ukraine and in the western Kursk region of Russia, continuing their steady advance along the eastern front line. Following a surprise attack into Russia in August, Ukrainian forces continue to hold control over a small portion of Russian territory.

Casualties
According to recent report from Reuters news agency, Russia has lost 315,000 soldiers in the war, which is 90% of the initial number of troops it deployed at the start of the conflict. New York Times article from August that cited US officials estimated that up to 120,000 people had been wounded and 70,000 people had died in Ukraine’s war.

War Developments
Ukraine’s Air Force said that its Air defense system had neutralized 28 drones out of 74 drones lunched overnight by Russia targeting Ukraine.
They further added that 46 more drones were lost, most likely shot down by using their electronic warfare
Russian ministry of defense quoted that 46 Ukrainian drones were shot down by its Air defense system over five Russian regions during the course of the night
